Statement
Flamgu represents energy. It is the love that connects and creates all things. As an artist, I seek to follow and embody this idea.
As an artist, I work in two styles. One is my conceptual, representational work and the other is my abstract flow. My abstract pieces are explorations of imagination, materials, and the state of flow. These paintings are meant to accentuate the importance of play and joy. Propelling my artistic vision, are my conceptual pieces that are meant to explore concepts of the human condition, death, rebirth, and duality.
I draw inspiration from my education in science, mythology, dreams, cross cultural mysticism, our connection with Mother Earth and each other. Exploring contrast is inherit to who I am and I believe it makes life richer. Contrast gives a deeper perspective and broader experience. My artistic practice and exploration is testament to this. My two styles give each other and myself a greater life.
Flamgu’s mission is to embody the Gu in all its delight. She seeks to celebrate Life through the power of Love, Imagination, Expression and Community through her art and life.
Bio
As a native East Tennessean, surrounded by forests and lakes, Flamgu’s love of nature was inevitable. Creativity, especially in drawing, has always been instilled within her. Satisfying her two passions, she began her education double majoring in chemistry and art at San Diego State University. As she was both learning about the mechanics of Life through her school curriculum and metaphysically through her practices, she began to explore themes of unconditional love, gratitude for all that is, interconnectedness, and the power of imagination. From this, she connected with importance of our hearts, a theme found throughout her work. Through nurturing her heart connection, she came into the stance that her life is a masterpiece and that her work and process is one of her greatest teachers in life. With this, she directed her full focus into art.
Artistically, she has been most influenced by Roberto Matta’s Inscapes, which are manifestations of the artist’s interior world. Before learning of Matta’s work and process, Flamgu solely created representational compositions speaking her inner perceptions. Craving the challenge, she plunged head first into exploring the spontaneity and intuition behind this imagination based process. Flamgu still places great emphasis on her representational work and seeks to marry these two distinct styles to create visionary art that both carries the energy and the message of each piece.
Duality, death and rebirth are the common denominator in her work. Her work has been published in national magazines, Studio Visit (2018), and has been exhibited throughout the world, including the “Best of Undergraduates” in The 14th Annual Emerging Artists Exhibition (2018) at Manifest Gallery in Cincinnati, OH and in London at the Brit School of Performing Arts (2018). She has had solo exhibitions and her work belongs to the permanent collection of Pacha Moma, a visionary art museum in Irapuato, Mexico.
Upon received her B.A. from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in in printmaking and entrepreneurship, she spent many years traveling the country where she developed a knack for live event painting. She currently resides outside of Nashville.
Flamgu is the essence that ignites every atom and creates the cosmos.
It is Energy. It is Love. It is Life.
Flamgu x NFTs
Humanity is at the cusp of the digital revolution. Flamgu believes in NFTs for empowering both the artist and the people. She is excited to assist in bridging the physical and digital worlds to create a more innovation and free society.
To assist in highlighting the phygital, Flamgu brings her skill set of live painting into the NFT world, where she creates direct onto the canvas IRL meetups. From the physical painting, any type of NFT can be created as a token of the memory. This is very exciting since it novel within the space.
Currently, her NFTs are all 1/1 digital collectibles from her paintings. She is excited to explore the possibilities and genius of NFTs as she grows into a team.

Fascinated with the enigma of energy, my ideas stem from the things we cannot see. The subtle energy system and its sachets of truths inspire me to create synthesized, spiritual narratives. In the process of conceptualizing my realizations, I seek to excite love into the community.
