Flamgu x NFTs

Humanity is at the cusp of the digital revolution. Flamgu believes in NFTs for empowering both the artist and the people. She is excited to assist in bridging the physical and digital worlds to create a more innovation and free society.

To assist in highlighting the phygital, Flamgu brings her skill set of live painting into the NFT world, where she creates direct onto the canvas IRL meetups. From the physical painting, any type of NFT can be created as a token of the memory. This is very exciting since it novel within the space.

Currently, her NFTs are all 1/1 digital collectibles from her paintings. She is excited to explore the possibilities and genius of NFTs as she grows into a team.

Although an NFT stands for a non-fungible token, it's simply a digital asset on the blockchain. In terms of art, this is equivalent to owning a piece of art in the digital world.

Currently, Flamgu has two NFT collections listed on OpenSea – “Flamgu’s Original Collection” and “Flamgu’s Murals“. Making them collector items, each NFT is 1/1 or in a very low edition. With time and learning, she plans to expand her NFTs with animation, utility, collaborations, and a regenerative collection. Below she has written a statement regarding NFTs (to help educate), as well a roadmap of her work with NFTs. Please follow the links and feel free to contact her.

Art has the power to move us, to reach into our soul and uncover hidden aspects of ourselves. Culturally, art has been the most powerful tool in shaping culture.

However, the internet is one of the greatest revolutions of man-kind. Having the ability to connect and create with people all over the world has brought the world and its ideas much closer together. The internet is its own organism evolving with our inventions.

Web 2.0 is the internet we all know and use today and is dominated by centralized apps, such as Facebook and Google. These companies rely on use-participation to collect and sell data often without our permission.  As users of Web 2.0, we get to share our content, but at what costs?

As an artist in Web 2.0, it feels like we are a cog in the machine, where we create our art, share it, and hope it gets seen, and credited if shared. Once we release our art to the internet, there is no telling what will happen with it. Personally, I’ve felt this discouragement when one of my pieces turned into a viral meme without any credit. I’ve even heard of artists finding their work on products being made in China. When this happens, we and our visions feel cheapened and taken advantage of. This has terrible effects on both the artist and the type of art that is being created. Web 2.0 is breeding content creators, not artists.

I believe that Web 3.0 is truly revolutionary for giving power back to the people through its decentralization. NFTs are radical for the artist in the same way as blockchain technology is for the masses. With NFTs, the artist is in control of their art. No longer are galleries taking a 50% cut or collectors flipping the art. This form of art collecting doesn’t have to fit in a certain room or interior space. The digital asset is a smart investment in the digital age because you don’t have to carry it around and can be sold easily. Web 3.0 will usher in a new era of the public supporting the vision of the artist. Art will become more authentic and a place for artists to truly flourish with innovation.

Since there is still incredible potential in the idea of an NFT, we will see many incredible projects for the people, by the people. Ownership of our ideas, authenticity of our work, and innovation makes me truly excited to be a visionary artist in Web 3.0.

Art is a reflection of the world and the greatest narrative of history. While the internet is one of the greatest revolutions of man-kind, art is the greatest revolution in humanity. Today, we are part of a great renaissance in both art and the internet. We could be shaping one of the greatest revolutions in time.
